Dudoo was born out of the desire by SOS Kannerduerf Lëtzebuerg (SOS Children's Village Luxembourg) to develop a talisman, a friend in need, for the children in their care. The children were invited to participate in a workshop and convey their wishes and fears as well as their experience on how they cope with difficult situations. Is there an object that could help in those moments?
Based on the insight we received, we developed a soft toy with some distinct features:
•It can be used as a cushion
•It has ears that can be removed and used as a scarf or a "doudou", depending on the age of the child
•It has a friendly yet neutral face
•It can be customised (by using a different scarf)
•It's in the distinct blue colour of the SOS Children's Villages

The Dudoo has become a mascot for the SOS Children's Village Luxembourg and stands for their support of every child's right to grow up in a safe environment. Every child cared for by the Children's Village in Luxembourg will get their very own.

Dudoo is close to the french word "Doudou", which stands for a soft toy, often a piece of cloth, that kids carry around with them everywhere and also sounds like "Hey you!" in luxembourgish ("Du, do!")
